A Divorce Program for Children
Individual or Small  Group Sessions

A therapeutic and educational program designed for children coping with separation and divorce. The program is run by Dr. Peg Dunn-Snow, a Licensed & Certified Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor and former Exceptional Student Education Teacher and School Guidance Counselor.

Based on the popular children’s book by Laurene Krasny Brown and Marc Brown, Dinosaurs Divorce, A Guide for Changing Families, psycho-educational groups will be offered for children at Dr. Dunn-Snow's Davie office.

This Art Therapy-based Program will run for 6 consecutive weeks. Children can participate in the program during individual sessions, dyads, or small groups of  2-4 children. Each week, there will be a 75 minute session designed to cover specific issues/topics on how to deal with divorce, as outlined in the book. Weekly topics include:
Session 1: Why Parents Divorce
Session 2: What About You? Children Have Feelings Too
Session 3: Having Two Homes
Session 4: Celebrating Birthdays and Holidays
Session 5: Telling Your Friends
Session 6: When Parents Date and Remarry

Upon completion of the program, each child will have created their own unique illustrated book about their experience with divorce.

Dr. Peg Dunn-Snow is a licensed Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor, and held a Florida teaching certificate that included exceptional student education, elementary education, art education, remedial reading, and school guidance for many years.
